Resources and Apps

Here are common resources and applications that I often suggest to clients. Disclaimer: this is not everything that I give to my clients but some helpful things to try out and see how it helps. There is also help-lines and crisis support resources listed here if you are in need.

Resources:

If you or a loved one is experiencing an emergency or mental health crisis please call 911 for medical assistance or contact one of the support services listed below for more specific needs.

 

If you or someone you know is thinking about suicide, call Talk Suicide Canada at 1-833-456-4566. Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Crisis support is available to former Residential School students and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 1-866-925-4419 (toll-free).

CHIMO Helpline at 1-800-667-5005.

Drugwatch; a free online health resource reviewed by the Health on the Net Foundation, University of Illinois at Chicago's Drug Information Group, and The Physicians' Review Network Inc. Apps:

Finch is a mental health support app that I sometimes recommend to clients, it is completely free to use, has daily mental health check-ins, self-care monitoring, and a fun little finch you can interact with, some free assessments, and more.

CBT Companion is a mental health support app. This app is also free to use. The app includes mindfulness, guided meditation, daily check-ins, tools and activities that go right along with your CBT therapy, and more.

Emoods-wellness tracker.png

eMoods Wellness Tracker is a free-to-use daily tracker that is really straight to the point. The app lets you easily chart your daily outlook, habits, goals, sleep, medications, and other factors that contribute to your overall well-being. The app allows you to view graphs of your data and export print-ready charts, making it simple to take control of your wellness and develop healthy, supportive habits.

Love Wick is a free relationship app. From tracking events that have occurred in your relationship to helping to give you ideas on date night options this app is something couples can use to help remain connected. This is a unique app that can be linked with your partners account so you can ask each other fun questions. You can even keep track of information they share with you like birthdays, favourite things and other important information all in one place.
