FAQs

You Ask - I Answer

How long does each therapy session take and cost?

Individual sessions are 50-60 minutes. Couples and Family sessions vary in length. Cost information is available on the 'Services' page but can also be discussed with me directly.

What techniques do you use?

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy for my clients. I more specifically utilize PCT (person-centered therapy), CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy), EFT (emotion-focused therapy), SFBT (solution-focused brief Therapy), and Narrative therapy techniques. I will go over my personal approach more for you if needed in the free consultation meeting.

Do you accept Insurance?

I am a registered provider with Green Sheild of Canada, Medavie Blue Cross, and Sunlife. By being a registered provider it is far simpler for you to get your reimbursement faster. I do not do any direct billing at this time.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

I do offer a sliding scale to those who need it. Sliding scale rates are dependent on income and limited. Please contact me to discuss this option if this is the option you need and to see if I have any available openings for a new sliding scale client.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that if a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled that you give me 48 hours notice. The site I use for my online therapy services sends out reminders to give you ample time to cancel or reschedule within the appropriate time period. If a late cancellation or no-show occurs (meaning less than 24 hours notice), without valid reasons results in the full fee being billed, this is due to a slot being taken that someone else could have used. I will respect your time as well and give you at least 24-48 hours notice if I need to cancel our appointment that way both of our times are respected equally. â€‹

I sent a message and have had no response yet, why?

Some email types do not like Gmail and other email types. If you have sent me an inquiry and have not heard back from me after 24-48 hours please check your spam folder as I make it a point to get back to inquiries within that time frame always. I am human though so there is a small chance your initial inquiry may have been lost in my inbox. If so feel free to message me again or call during my business hours and leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
